Discover how to benefit from the Tanzania’s stock market (DSE: Dar-es-Salaam Stock Exchange)
The following is the report of the daily transactions in the Dar-es-Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), on July 14, 2025.

For Stocks Transactions, and

Bonds Transactions.
The DSE was established in 1996, and just like Kariakoo, Mbagala Markets…
DSE is a market with money products, like Stocks and Bonds.
The market is active from Monday to Friday, 4 am to 10 pm. And the market usually closes on holidays.
Firstly, the most important thing before any investment is to know what you are going to invest your money in.
The right literacy is your proper foundation.
For Bonds,
There are Treasury Bonds from the government and Corporate Bonds from institutions.
Active bonds are those whose maturity period is not complete.
Although the minimum investment of a bond can range from 500,000/= to 1,000,000/=, bonds are sold in multiples of 100,000/=.
Retail investors who cannot start with that initial amount can collect their funds, as in Mutual Funds of Investment, and
…buy bonds through a broker. A broker buys stocks and bonds on your behalf, because
an investor does not buy and sell bonds or stocks solely but only through a broker.
Choosing a broker who will represent you is your responsibility.
In Stock,
This market now has an online platform known as ‘Hisa Kiganjani’…
you can download the phone app with the same name, then follow the instructions to register and choose your broker.
At the market, you will see,
✔ company stocks and their stock prices
✔ the number of shares sold at the time ‘Buy Stock’
✔ sell and buy orders you place in the market ‘Buy Orders, Sell Orders’
✔ the amount of stocks and bonds you own (completed transactions) ‘Holdings’
✔ companies that are selling shares for the first time; ‘IPO – Initial Public Offering’
✔ information about your account, accounts of minors (if present), and your broker’s information ‘Account Information’
Normally, stocks and bonds are bought at an auction, like the physical auctions we know.
Something is publicized for sale, people offer better prices than others to buy it.
Using the ‘Hisa Kiganjani’ app to buy shares, you place an order to buy ‘buy order’,…
then you will make the payment through the control number and you will wait until 3 working days to find out if,
your purchase order was accepted ‘fulfilled‘,the order has expired, and you will have to buy again ‘repost order’.
When your buy is completed, your broker sends you the transaction receipt.
For any technical challenges you can contact your broker or DSE customer dials to get help within the active time of the market.
Download your stocks investment tracker of tracking your transactions and investments, as illustrated below:
